Are there any number of counts to do this or do we have to do this till we finish the entire chanting of the sloka ?

How To Pray To Lord Ganesha ?

Answer  :

The best way to appease and satisfy Lord Ganesha is to perform “Dhorbhi Karanam” (also known as Thoppu Karanam). Dhorbi Karanam is the act of sitting and standing holding our ears with our hands crossed and to knock our forehead with our knuckles. We have to do the Dhorbi Karanam five times at once while chanting the sloka.  Also, according to the “Vinayaka Puranam” (also known as Ganesha Purana), we need to do this for the entire period of chanting the Ganapati Dyanam sloka “Shuklambaradharam” which is given below.

Shuklam-baradharam Vishnum Shashi-varnam Chatur-bhujam
